Will my Videologic Vivid!XS card work properly with linux?  It uses
the PowerVR KYRO II chipset.

What will be the effect if there's no driver available?

(Videologic do not supply a linux driver.)

Thanks,
Graeme

Most videocards will have VESA 2.0 or better. That way you can still use
generic VESA framebuffer to go to the graphics mode. It will be slower
as there is no acceleration... If this card doesn't have VESA 2.0+ then
it is very crappy - you would be much better off getting some old ATI
Rage series card or something... Or ATI Radeon - OpenGL accelerated :)
