Sync comm card w PPP compat driver?

Sync comm card w PPP compat driver?

Post by Andrew R. Maffe » Sat, 07 Jun 1997 04:00:00

I am building a Linux system to connect a research ship to the
Internet via the INMARSAT-B satelite communications system. The high
speed data interface is a 64kbit SYNCHRONOUS RS232 connector providing
clear-channel access to the shoreside ISDN network.

Does anyone know of PCMCIA and/or PCI SYNCHRONOUS communications cards
that have Linux drivers compatible with Linux PPP in a SYNC Mode? Note
that ISDN cards will *not* work with this application since ISDN
connector not available directly on the ship.

Hints on finding info about using sync-PPP with Linux are also
appreciated.
Thanks for your help.
