Thin Computer

Hope I'm not OT.
I posted in order to know if anybody has experience in using TC1000
terminals (Acute Network Technologies - as a client
to a Linux Box.
I'd greatly appreciate any kind of answer.
Thanx in advance.

1. Connecting two computers with thin

For some stupid reason I'm having an incredibly difficult time trying to
network my two computers together under linux.  As far as I can see, I'm
not doing anything incorrectly.

             Computer 1                    Computer 2

Once ifconfig takes care of things, I run route:

route add -net eth0
(or even route add default eth0)

I try pinging the other machine and although I get no connection, data LEDs
on both ether cards are blinking at pace with each packet (which I'm not
seeing) sent out.

Can anyone help me with this?? I'm getting rather frustrated!!
