NEC ATAPI 4x4 CDROM

Post by UNF.. » Fri, 29 May 1998 04:00:00

Hi all,

I have just installed an NEC ATAPI 4x4 CDROM. Linux (2.0.33) only
recognizes ONE CD in drive #1. Is it possible to attach the other
ones, too.

                                            Any hints welcommed

                                                         Uwe.

By now, that's a FAQ if I ever saw one. Look at 'eject' (especially the
'-c' option).

go to http://slashdot.org/linux/mystuff.shtml and you will find an app
called ascdc.  it will allow you to change trays in X and was written
for that very cd rom drive.  I a NEC and it works pretty well.  Also,
the app was designed for the afterstep or WindowMaker window managers
but should work in any.

good luck,

christian
