hi there!

i have a system with dual celeron 400 and scsi drives

Great stabilty with 2.4.17 (some problem with 2.4.18 though): no system
crash till....
Last week I bought a 60g ide hard disk and from then on every couple of
days the system crashes without any specific or apparent reason.

Is anyone experiencing something similar? Any suggestion on possible
causes and solution?

what is your HD?
If I don't cool my IBM 60GXP 60GB enourgh
it's craches my sustem ...
try to add a cooler on your Hard Drive...

Thanks for the hint.
Mine is a MAXTOR 6L060J3, but I originally put it very close to the scsi
disk. After the last crash it seemed the temperature was very high. I
tried moving the ide disk far from the scsi so to increase heat dissipation.
Now I'm just crossing my fingers...
