1. Compex network card

Hi!
    I am new in Linux.  I have installed Red Hat 6.2 server successfully.
Everything run fine except the networking.  During boot, I got a message of

    Bringing up interface eth0 insmod:
/lib/modules/2.2.14-5.0/net/re100tx.o: insmod eth0 failed.

I use COMPEX PCI fast ethernet adapter 10/100.  Here is what I have done by
following the manufacturer instructions:
    1) cp /mnt/floppy/re100tx.c   /usr/src/linux
    2) cd /usr/src/linux
    3) gcc -DMODULE -D__KERNEL__ -Wall -Wstrict-prototypes -O6 -c re100tx.c
[` -f /usr/include/linux/modversions.h ] && echo -DMODVERSIONS`
    4) install -m 644 re100tx.o /lib/modules/2.214-5.0/net/
    5) vi /etc/conf.modules  and  add an entry of
                alias eth0 re100tx

All this went fine without any problem.  Then I tried to setup the network
card using netconf to modify the Basic host information section:  In adaptor
1 tab, I entered:

    1)    Checked Bootp
    2)    Primary name + domain:  myserver.mydomain.com
    3)    IP address:    192.168.1.1
    4)    Netmask:        255.255.255.0
    5)    Net device:    eth0
    6)    Kernel module:    re100tx

I have tried to bring the network card for several days any getting nowhere.
Any help is very much appreciate.
