ES1688 cannot work

ES1688 cannot work

hello..

    currently...i'm installing linux slackware 3.6..kernel 2.0.3.5...
when i config my sound card which is ES1688..it cannot detect it....i read
it the readme.linux and realize that i must use a script in it...but i
cannot how to cut it and run it for execute....any other suggestion or
somebody can show me the step how to do it.....please....you can send an e-
mail for me asap...

ES1688 cannot work

I just recompiled the kernel with all sound options as modules and it
works fine

1. Sound config with a ESS ES1688, works but problems with abuse

Hi.

I have a cheap soundcard calles CianAction Sound-Conductor 16
Model SC1630.

I had it setup as a Soundblaster compactible card and most things
with noise works just fine. But I have problems when playing abuse.
I had success only one time for a few minutes and heard the music, but
never again.

I tried several parameters at the sound-config but it worked never again.
I only got the message :

I read in the documentation of the sounddriver that this could be a problem
with the hadrdisks.

Did anybody succeeded with this card?
