Very Computer

I have recently bought a LINUX book, the one written by Patrick Volkerding,
and a few other people. It came with slackware 96 and some cd rom boot
disks. Two of them for my EIDE CD ROM is mcd.i & mcdx.i
Neither one of them work for my cd rom. When I first booted my computer on
the boot disks I created it said something about not being the correct cd
rom. ( I wish I had written it down as it was shown on my screen )

Anyways they are both for non IDE cd rom drives. Mine is actually an EIDE
and I am not sure if that is considered a "non IDE CD ROM" I assume it is
because it is not IDE.

If you know where I can go on the internet or ftp to try and find it my
self I would appreciate the address.

a week, and I may not be bale to find the responses in here!!

I have the same installation, and using the net.i bootdisk worked fine and
found my Mitsumi FX120 EIDE cdrom with no problems. The bare.i image will
probably work as well. Make sure the images you are using are for EIDE roms
rather than older proprietary Mitsumi interfaces. Any EIDE CDROM should
work with the stock EIDE kernel image.
