Hi! Could everybody post their "cat /proc/cpuinfo" here? I love to type this on every single
machine I can put my hands on :) (anyway it's just for fun ;)

processor       : 0

I hope this is OK with everybody on the NG. I have a Cyrix PR166+.
Running RH 5.1, upgraded to kernel 2.0.35.

processor       : 0
cpu             : 586
model           : 6x86
vendor_id       : CyrixInstead
stepping        : 2.6
fdiv_bug        : no
hlt_bug         : no
f00f_bug        : no
fpu             : yes
fpu_exception   : yes
cpuid           : yes
wp              : yes
flags           : fpu
bogomips        : 132.71

1. cat /proc/cpuinfo: What is stepping?

I have two 350MHz computers. One of them runs 3.3 times faster
that the other (on a program I make, I have noticed differencies
in other programs as well). This test does not involve output
to screen in any manner.

When I do a "cat /proc/cpuinfo" I get (on the "slow" machine)

processor       : 0
cpu             : 686
model           : 5
vendor_id       : GenuineIntel
stepping        : 1
fdiv_bug        : no
hlt_bug         : no
f00f_bug        : no
fpu             : yes
fpu_exception   : yes
cpuid           : yes
wp              : yes
flags           : fpu vme de pse tsc msr pae mce cx8 11 mtrr pge mca
cmov 16 17 mmx 24
bogomips        : 349.80

What is the "stepping" entry? It is 2 on the faster machine.
