Needed: Tape drive for DC 600A Data Tape Cartridges

Is there a tape drive that can read DC 600A Data Tape Cartridges from 3M
(60 Mb) under Linux?

We have tapes from an old Masscomp Unix server that we would like to look at.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
Please e-mail.
Thanks.

I recently had to do the same thing, except I needed to read DC6525 tapes.
I ended up buying a used Archive Viper tape drive from a local junk store,
and it worked just fine first time I tried.

What you want is a QIC-24 or QIC-150 tape drive (although a QIC-525 or a QIC-1000
drive will work too; just more expensive). The Cipher 540S, Archive 2060S and
Viper 60 are QIC-24 drives (DC600A), while the Archive 2150S and Viper 150
are QIC-150 drives (DC6150).

If you can't find anything locally, you may want to call Eric at Alltronics
(1.408.943.9773) as he had a few 2060s and 2150s in stock a couple of weeks
ago for about $40 each.
