hello.
i just got a new canon bubble-jet 200 printer to replace my old 9-pin.
last week i printed up three over-due lab reports for class. pretty
complicated postscript from tex and xfig stuff. everything printed great.
this week, i can't print the fourth lab report. i get pieces missing from
the text, and the picture gets all messed up.
i'm pretty sure it's not ghostscript, because when i set the output to
the screen, everything looks cool.
then again, i'm pretty sure it's not the printer, because the missing pieces
are identical every time.
i'm also pretty sure it's not my lab report, becuase i can't print last
week's either.
here's my setup - the bubble-jet is on lp1, ghostscript is set up
properly (as far as i can tell), my printcap looks like this:
lp:lp=/dev/lp1:sd=/usr/spool/lp1:of=/etc/lfcr:sh:ff=\f:
ostscript|s:lp=/dev/lp1:sd=/usr/spool/lp1:of=/etc/postscript:sh:
and /etc/postscript looks like this:
#!/bin/sh
/usr/bin/gs -q -dNOPAUSE -sDEVICE=bj200 -sOutputFile=- -
i tried printing either with
lpr -Postscript lab4.ps
cat lab4.ps | /etc/postscript | lpr
but neither seems to work.
well, lpr -Postscript lab4.ps worked correctly /once/, but i can't re-create
whatever i did that worked.
any advice would be appreciated. thanks.
