Please HELP!!! STB Horizon - XWindows

Post by Milos Popovi » Sat, 14 Feb 1998 04:00:00

I have a problem.  I am hoping that someone went through the same so
that they know exactly what I am talking about.

I have an STB Horizon 64 PCI video card.  I have Linux running, but I
can not get my X-windows to work.  After attempting to start X windows,
the screen turns black, with a number of vertical white lines.  I tried
all the options, played around with all the possible setup options but
nothing changes.

I would REALLY HONESTLY apreciate all the help I can get.  Even though
the configurator gives me STB Horizon as an option, it does'nt seem to
recognize it.

Please help!

Won't work, probably never will; I think that the Horizon 64 PCI uses
dead technology.

pyrojon> The example config file (that is supposed to work with any
pyrojon> VGA Standard card) simply locks up my machine when used.

Interesting. I think that I got it to work in VGA mode.

pyrojon> I would like to try the MetroX server but the RedHat

pyrojon> MetroX.  Can anyone tell me if this card will work with
pyrojon> MetroX, before I spend $50 to try it out?

Don't bother, it doesn't support it either.

It looks like Xinside supports the STB Horizon 64 PCI (and the Sierra
Falcon 64 chipset).  See http://www.xinside.com/board/bdindex.html
