Adaptec AHA-2940 SCSI conroller detects my tape as a disk

Post by Hakan Ar » Sun, 14 Jun 1998 04:00:00

Hi,
I have a Adaptec AHA-2940 SCSI conroller with two disk and one tape,
that all are working fine with the 2.0.30 kernel, but not with the
newer versions. I've tested the version in 2.0.34 and I've
tried the 5.0.19 patch.

If I boot with a tape in the drive there are three disks detected, the
third one beeing my tape drive, I get the following error:

scsi : aborting command due to timeout : pid 22, scsi0, channel 0, id 3,
       lun 0 0x00 00 00 00 00 00

If I don't have any tape in the drive the only indikation of it's
excistance that I get is:

(scsi0:0:2:0) Synchronous at 4.4MHz, offset 8.

But no tape is detected :(

Any ideas?
