which driver for 21143 ethernet card?

We have an Acer ALN-315 ethernet card with Intel 21143 chip (DEC
licensed?). We're using the tulip.c:v0.91g-ppc 7/16/99

a 100 Mbps ProCurve switch from HP.
We've noticed (with ping -f) that it has a rather poor performance. This
becomes especially evident when we replace it with an ALN-310 (DEC 21140).
Is there anything in terms of drivers we could do about that?

The de4x5 driver should work fine with a non-clone 21143.

1. Ethernet Driver for Intel 21143/2

Hi,

I am trying to get the ethernet card (built into the motherboard)
on my Compaq Presario 5686  to work under Linux.

Windows 98 device manager shows this ethernet adapter
as an "Intel  21143/2".

I have been trying to use the "Tulip" driver under RH Linux 6.1
but it doesn't seem to work as the LED never comes on and
I usually get a failure for eth0 at startup.

I have also tried the "de4x5" driver - but no luck.

Anyone got some ideas as to which driver to use?

If it's incompatible, is there a way to request that someone
write a driver for this ethernet adapter?
