1. Q: SLS 1.01: only 16 MB of 32 MB swap partition recognized ???!!!
Following Problem:
I have a 32 MB swap partition configured as partition sda7.
Linux seems to recognize only 16 MB ?!
I use SLS 1.01 with the kernel 0.99 up to PL 9 (if I remember right).
My Partition Table:
Disk /dev/sda: 64 heads, 32 sectors, 639 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 2048 * 512 bytes
Device Boot Begin Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/sda1 * 1 1 150 153584 6 DOS 16-bit >=32M
/dev/sda2 151 151 639 500736 5 Extended
/dev/sda5 151 151 161 11263+ 6 DOS 16-bit >=32M
/dev/sda6 162 162 182 21503+ 81 Linux/MINIX
/dev/sda7 183 183 215 33791+ 82 Linux swap
/dev/sda8 216 216 336 123903+ 81 Linux/MINIX
/dev/sda9 337 337 639 310271+ 81 Linux/MINIX
Swap setup: mkswap /dev/sda7 33791
Use swap: swapon /dev/sda7
Swapon reports during "adding of swap space"
that I have (only!) 16 MB swap. Free reports the same !
total used free shared buffers
Mem: 14716 10500 4216 2236 6144
Swap: 16380 0 16380
What about mkswap, do I have to type in
the number of 512 Byte blocks if I do an mkswap command ???!!!!
..... mkswap /dev/sda7 67582 !!!?????
Seems to be, although I'm sure that mke2fs uses 1 k block sizes as
argument !!! A bit wired !!
Thanks in advance
Andreas
