HI

I need specs for the above iiyama monitors. They seem to have the
highest refresh rates at high resolution.

I would love to hear about experiences (good/bad) anyone has had
in using them.

I have a Diamond S3Trio video card and run Linux Slackware

Thanks

You can get more info at www.iiyama.com.  Also, PC Magazine tested some
17" monitors recently, the results which you can get at www.pcmag.com,
under the Editor's Choice department.  You'll need a java enabled
browser for that, as PC Mag, following their wonderful :-p tradition of
providing info only through the medium that they presume everyone has,
let you view the result only through a java applet.  It used to be
Excel only, now it is java only.

Just whining.

Cheers,
e.

I have the MF-8617E and I love it as well.  It's the best monitor I could
find and I looked at a lot of high end ones.

As for specs, look at http://www.iiyama.com

I have an Iiyama VisionMaster Pro17 (MT9017-E)

I use it under Windows 95 and Linux with Xfree86.

It has among the highest refresh rates and resolutions of any 17" monior
around, and all I can say is.....it's excellent.  I heard that they are
quite popular in the CAD industry.

I had no problems setting it up for Xfree.  Don't be deceived by the
high resolutions possible - you should ask yourself whether you will
really use them or not.  Personally I always run in 1024x768 or rarely
in 1280x1024, and things are quite small already.  Although I bought the
monitor partly because it is capable of high resolutions with a decent
refresh rate, it's impractical (for me) to sensibly use a resolution of
1600x1200!  Nevertheless, a high refresh rate at any resolution is good.

I have a Diamond Stealth 64 VRAM (with 4Mb), which is can also handle
high refresh rates at high resolutions.  A whizzo monitor is no good
without a whizzo video card!

Mike.

Anyone have a good 1600x1200 mode def for the Iiyama 9017E?  Ideally
paired with a Number 9 771 Motion FX with 4M VRAM.

1. Need optimal Modelines for Iiyama MF-9017E

Anyone have the optimal ModeLine settings for this 17" monitor? I am just
using the default ones supplied in my newly created /etc/XF86Config and
while it looks nice in 1024x768 the screen doesn't go all the way to the
left, there is about a 1" gap. I just bought this monitor after my KFC
finally passwd away and would like to find the best settings.

Thanks,
