Compaq 560 XL and XWindows

Compaq 560 XL and XWindows

I am setting up XWindows on a Compaq 560 XL with the QVision 1 meg
video card.  SuperProbe says I have an OTI-087 chipset with 256K video
ram.  Is there a revised SVGA driver I can use?  I have gotten X
running using VGA_16 but I need greater resolutions.

I have set up a small Compaq Deskpro XL HOWTO

1. Does Compaq XL 560 or XL 566 suitable for Linux

I am in the process of installing Linux ( I got the Developer'r Resesources
from Info Magic ) on either XL560 and XL566. Does anyone out there
ever installed Linux on such system? I do not want to start now 'till
I know whether the embeded SCSI,Ethernet, and the display adapter are
supported under Linux.
