: Hi !!
: Is anybody out there using a Plus Development HardCard II with Linux ???
: This thing has it's own Boot rom and/or driver and I have no idea if they use
: a standard st506 interface on different IO-ports or if they use somthing of
: their own.
: The card can be set to IO-address 170-177 or 320-327 and IRQ 11 or 12, does
: this look like a standard interface ??
: Any help, hints or pointer wuld be great !
Sure, it works really well for me. The std interface is on irq 14 and
io address 1f0-1f7 and 3f6.
Set your card to 170-177 and a free Irq and a kernel above 1.2.x
(my one is 1.2.8) compiled with the boot option for the secondary
controller (something like "new ide driver for secondary i/f support")
should automagically detect and use it.
Then you have to have the devices /dev/hdc* and /dev/hdd* created.
Just like the /dev/hda* and /dev/hdb* devices, just use major number
22. the MAKEDEV script should create such devices.
so long
