From ../linux/drivers/sound/Readme.cards

There are also chips called OPL3-SA2, OPL3-SA3 or OPL3-SAX. They
are PnP chips and will _NOT_ work with the OPL3-SA1 driver. You
should use the standard MSS, MPU401 and OPL3 options with thses chips and
to activate the card using isapnptools

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

However I coud not achieve above configuration to work. Another
alternative is to try the sound driver from opensound. (www.opensound.com)
They offer an eavluation copy which can make use of this card.

I remember a reported sucessful compilation two or three days ago. A lot
of tricks. However, I forgot to save it. I have a Yamaha card, and have
problem as well.

Could someone repost it?

Cheers,
Jerry

Take a look at <http://www.mit.edu/people/decowski/Acer/Extensa390.html>
It's about a notebook that has that sound chip, and info on how to set
it up for Linux.
