USR 28.8 V.34 pre 4/18/95 rom

I remember seeing a few messages about this, and I was wondering if the rom is
the reason that my connection will randomly disconnect at times.  Any
information on the effects of the buggy rom, and / or how to get a new one
would be appreciated.

while my old 2400 modem works fine with the same settings ( COM2 - Irq3
