NEC CDR-4300 Multi-platter CDROM Changer

NEC CDR-4300 Multi-platter CDROM Changer

Post by Rois » Tue, 10 Aug 1999 04:00:00

I've been reading under the linux source documentation that there is a way
to make use of these cdrom changers in Linux.  I can mount the changer and
it will read the #1 cdrom just fine.  Are there any programs written to
allow me to access the other cd's.  I am using kernel 2.2.10 and Samba 2.x.
I would like to use the automounter  to access any cd's so I need a way to
setup /auto/cdrom2, /auto/cdrom3 and /auto/cdrom4.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

1. Pioneer Multi-Platter CD Systems

Can anyone advise if the SCSI interface Multi-Platter CD ROM systems -
such as from Pioneer - work OK with Linux???

There is an opportunity to acquire one of the 6 platter systems at a
very attractive price - but having searched the SCSI and CDROM howto's,
I can't find any reference to this.

Anyone out there using this equipment on Linux???
