Hello all!
(sorry for the x-posts... not sure where this ? belongs)
I'm running Slackware 7.0 on my HP 4150 quite happily, but I'm not
making full use of my external monitor that I use when docked. I'm
looking for recommendations for a PCI graphics card that I can stick
in the docking station to provide much higher resolution/color-depth
than the built-in graphics card. I'd like to get something that will
depth (like 24bpp). The two primary concerns are:
1) The expansion slots in the docking station are "small", so they can
only take half-sized PCI cards (half-size in length, not height).
2) I primarily run Linux, so it is critical that the card play well
with it (2.2.13 kernel)... also, I run VMWare quite a bit, but I
imagine if Linux works well with the card, then VMWare will too.
So... any recommendations? (Price isn't a big concern)
TIA,
-Dan#
P.S. I did a little bit of wandering about at www.hp.com/omnibook but
couldn't find much about recommendations for peripherals to put in the
docking station. Any pointers to URLs for this would, of course, be
greatly appreciated!
