Post by Morriss » Wed, 17 Jul 1996 04:00:00

I want to tell all of you that I am currently putting up a www page on my home
web page that will try to document ALL UNDOCUMENTED LINUX TRICKS!

My page will tell you how to get linux to see your IDE CD-ROMs, get that scsi
controller to work, why you get 'Error 11', or get that tape back up to work
properlly!  I still have lots to write about!  Check it our every so often and
I will update it continously!

-SPREAD THE WORD!

P.S.  I know you want to know how to get that CD-ROM working under Linux, IT
WORK FOR ALL ATAPI CD-ROMs!

Why not just write updates to the various existing HOWTOs? And shadow
them at your Web site??

: web page that will try to document ALL UNDOCUMENTED LINUX TRICKS!

: My page will tell you how to get linux to see your IDE CD-ROMs, get that scsi

Actually this is documented :-) I submitted a patch for the kernel to
document it properly, and it got accepted.  See linux/Documentation/ide.txt

: controller to work, why you get 'Error 11', or get that tape back up to work
: properlly!  I still have lots to write about!  Check it our every so often and
: I will update it continously!

I Agree with a previous poster; submit your stuff to the Hwoto maintainers.
By all means maintain the www page too.
Cheers,

There are just too many How-Tos and not enought of me.  I like it better to
post up the fix, date it, and then give credit to those who tell me rather
than find the exact how to his relates to.

-but thanx for the idea.
