Compaq Armada 7792 - 33.6 Modem

I just installed Red Hat Linux 6.0 and everything is going great except that
I cannot get my modem working.  I have an internal modem on my Armada
laptop.  It seems to know that it is there on COM 2 but always says it's
busy.  When I try to set it up using the KDE version of pppd it will do

The internal modem on my Armada 7800 laptop is a winmodem, and is not
supported. I now have to now go buy an external modem and hook it to a
serial port.
