Hi, Linux folks,
I got a problem when trying to install slackware-3.2 to my computer.
Before that, I got Slackware-3.0 in my PC. Everything worked perfectly.
The problem is that the computer died when booting up the bootkernel
disk. ( I made it using bare.i )
Here is the detail of the computer:
CPU: Pentium 150 ( i430VX motherboard with i430VX chipsets )
IDE controller: Intel 82371SB PCI Bus Master IDE Controller.
3.2G harddisk as hda, TAKAYA CD-812 12X CDROM as hdb.
Following is the message I got when booting the "boot" disk:
......
pcibios_init : BIOS32 Service Directory structure at 0x000fad20
pcibios_init : BIOS32 Service Directory entry at 0xfb1a0
pcibios_init : PCI BIOS revision 2.10 entry at 0xfb1d0
Probing PCI hardware
Warning : Unknown PCI device (100c:3208). ...
......
hda: QUANTUM FIREBALL_TM3200A, 3067MB w/76KB Cache, LBA, CHS=779/128/63
hdb: DF6910C(-D18)2, ATAPI CDROM drive
and then the computer died. It seems that it didn't recognize the
CDROM. I then tried to recompile the kernel(2.0.29) without the cdrom
support, everything was fine. But I couldn't use the CDROM.
Any suggestion?
Thanks!
