Western Digital WD-7193 SCSI controller with Linux

Western Digital WD-7193 SCSI controller with Linux

Has anyone tried the WD-7193 SCSI-II controller with Linux (or, if not, do you
know if it is likely to work)?  The SCSI howto mentions support for a WD 7000
SCSI controller, but that appears to be an ISA card.  The WD-7193 is a PCI
bus-master card, and NCA (a local SF-Bay area store) is selling them for only
$79.

Unfortunately no driver exists for the 719x series of Western Digital SCSI
cards.  There is one in development, but it is still in the early alpha
stages, and due to Adaptec and Western Digital being so uncooperative, it
looks like it may stay that way.  The page is:

I had the 7197, which performed well in DOS, but due to it not being usable in
Linux, I decided to get a BusLogic MultiMaster card.  They are well supported
in Linux, and perform great!  I would recommend the BusLogic card.  Good Luck!
