I've got 16M of non-EDO RAM and my machine runs 2.0.13 nicely.
When I use 16M of EDO RAM, it also runs nicely.
When I use 16M of each, it freaks. X doesn't work. (3.1.2C)
Everything else works, but no X. Odd.
Thoughts? The motherboard appears to be able to handle it -- the BIOS
has a little note -- 'bank0 EDO: no' 'bank1 EDO: yes'.
Help?

Here's an update.
4 8M EDO SIMMs don't work either. Bizarre. Why would X stop working if I _double_ the amount of silicon RAM in my system?
Hi,
I'm about to invest in another 32M of RAM, in the form of 2 16M
72-pin SIMMs. It'll be running alongside 2 8M 70ns plain-old
SIMMs; will I still get benefits mixing EDO and non-EDO RAM?
Should I bother?
Also, I only have 256k cache... is it worth upgrading to 512k?
