Decent mail server, or some other small network task. It is more of a
hobbyist machine now a days.

Teach your kids 3D Graphics programming. They had pretty good GL demos
on these boxes to demonstrate the concept of graphic pipeline.
If i'm right, the system was not even called IRIX ! These machines
need a lot of care regarding the connectors of the different graphic
cards..

They are about 10y old, as I remember having gone to Africa for a tour
of demos with a 3130 in 1987..
