Octane -> projector

Octane -> projector

Post by J. P. Mello » Wed, 11 Nov 1998 04:00:00

We have a sharp project that we are trying (usuccessfully so far) to use
to
display the output of an octane.  The projector displays the out of an
O2 just
fine (inspite of a problem booting with the projector connected).  I
have tried
using setmon to change the resolution, refresh and sync but in all cases
the
projector is unable to detect a signal.  Is there something special that
must be
done to display the output of an octane on a project?  Has anybody else
done
this?  If so, can you provide me details - make and model of projector,
how it's
setup, etc.

Thanks,

jp

Octane outputs *ONLY* sync-on-green, so you need to split off sync (or
if you're lucky and it does composite sync, you can sometimes get away
with attaching green to both green and composite sync -- reflections on
the cable because of termination issues, but if you keep your cables
short...but you'll either need a 13W3 to BNC cable or a soldering iron
(or both) ).

Why are V10's priced higher than V8's??? Because in the strange world of SGI
market pricing... that is what I determined. Each does have different
advantages depending on the use. I can make the V8 more expensive... however
I'm afraid I can't make the V10 any cheaper at this juncture. Just look at
it like you are getting a great deal on the V8:)  Thanks for your interest.
