:Anybody know where I can get "enscript" for sgi (mips)?

# versions long | grep enscript
f 36784   153 trans.sw.trans          usr/bin/enscript
f  5557    10 trans.man.trans         usr/catman/u_man/cat1/enscript.z
l     0     0 trans.sw.trans          usr/lib/ps/enscript

This is the Transcript package, available from SGI, not for free.
They didn't even bother to recompile it as an ELF object, so there
obviously haven't been any recent improvements made.

I would think you would be better off replacing the program with
another of similar functionality, or simply re-writing the program
yourself.

Another thing to check for is 'lptops', a (mostly) equivalent program for
converting ASCII to PostScript.  Look for it in /usr/lib/print/lptops.
Also check the SGI "apps" FAQ, where (at least in my version from July)
lptops and related topics are discussed in question #9.

Good luck,

There is also the "imprint" program available in the impr_base subsystem.
(That's impressario's base software). It functions similarly to enscript.

1. Enscript

Hi !

I used Enscript a lot, but now I heard it's not supported anymore.

What is replacing it ?

What I used were the -2rh options to print lenghty code lines...

Thank you for your time.
