newbie aquired Indy running IRIX 6.2 needs help

I just aquired an SGI Indy box running IRIX 6.2 and when it boots it
goes through a series of dumps. Once the dumps are finished it says
' [PRESS reset to ReStart the machine] '

where is the 'reset' button?

sounds silly but the only buttons I see are the power on/off and two
others, one up arrow and one down arrow. None of which are labeled.

what are the arrow buttons used for?

Hidden under the power button, recessed in such a way that you have to hit
it with a pen tip or paperclip. I'd point you to the user manual at SGI,
but it's been moved or deleted within the last week. You might be able to
find something at

I believe they're volume controls, but I could be wrong about that.

1. Installing Irix 6.2 On Indy Newbie help?

Hello There folks...

Thanks yous to many folks for answering all of my stupid SGI questions... I
really really do appreciate it alot, having a great community of users out
here helping each other...

So.. I present the last question for awhile, and then I'll go away.

So I now Have my INDY.  It unfortuanlty, came with a Wiped (Formatted) HD.
I now have a working Video Setup, Irix 6.2 CD's, etc for it...

So What is the process/Motions that one goes to install the Irix Software On
a Virgin Indy box?  is it safe to assume someone Else has done this, and has
kindly written up a HOWTO or a Faq about the process for SGI Newbies (Like
me!)

Is there a Faq/Howto Out there?  Or can Someone provide me with some Ok
Instructions?  Hopefully I'll be able to fig most of it out... I've ben
using Sco Unix, adn BSDI For long enough to learn to hate them... (About 5
years)

But if anyone can point me in the right direction, on where to start, i
would greatly appreciate it.

Oh yes.. One tiny Little hardware question... Is it safe to assume that The
majorit yof the SCSI-2 Interface (50 Pin suckers) Seagate Barracuda Drives
would be compatible with my Indy?

Thankyou very much for all of your help, and your time.
