DOSEmu and Logitech mouse problem

DOSEmu and Logitech mouse problem

Post by Vince Hamric » Fri, 22 Dec 1995 04:00:00

I can't quite get my mouse to work in DOSEmu.  I have a Logitech connected to
ttyS0 (COM1).  I have tried using the internaldriver and the DOS driver.  Both
give no errors but neither work.  As far as the dosemu.conf file, I basically
just uncommented the mouse stuff that applied to me.  I believe I am running
DOSEmu 0.6 (it's whatever comes with RedHat 2.1) and kernel 1.2.13.  This is
REALLY important, because I HAVE to be able to play Master Of Magic while
dialing into work. ;^)

Thanks for any help.

Are you running `selection' and `dos' at the same time? This was the
problem on _my_ box. In my case the solution was a suid program to start
and stop `selection'. However, my Logitech mouse doesn't work with
`xdos' :-(

My Logitech Pilot OEM mouse work quite well with the internal driver.
This is my mouse entry in dosemu.conf:

mouse { microsoft device /dev/mouse internaldriver emulate3buttons }

Emumouse.com might be helpful for mouse related problems.

1. Using Logitech 3 button mouse, as a Logitech 3 button mouse.

Subject says it all,  after weeks of pain, grief, frustration, hating
everybody who kept telling me that Logitech mice work fine with 0.96bp2.
I finally got my Logitech Mouseman (3 buttons) to work.  Simply by
uncommenting the line in Xconfig for a Microsoft mouse. (Thank you whoever
posted this little snippet of advice, if only I had known).  However, I have
a 3 BUTTON mouse and would really like to use it as such.  Does anybody have
  ^^^^^^^^
a Mouseman working with 3 buttons.  Please, please tell me if you do.

Thanks (I hope) in advance,

Scott.
