How to enable CUT/PASTE from mouse

Post by R Hayne » Mon, 30 Mar 1998 04:00:00

Hi, I never had this problem before, I just install SUSE linux (a nice
product) I am using CDE window manager.  For some reason I can't
cut and paste from xterms with my mouse.  I have a two button mouse
(arghh) I just use to use both buttons together to simulate the middle
button.

It also affects some application where the middle button is used.

Is there a emulate 3 button options in the file for CDE?  I know
one exists for .fvwmrc...

Actually, the best place to emulate three buttons is in the file
/etc/X11/XF86Config (if you are using the CDE).

This file may be in a different location on your system (Slackware places
it somewhere in /var, for example).

1. Cut and paste & Mouse button questions

Two really simple questions:

1) Can someone help me with the settings I'll need to be able to cut and paste
directly between windows using fvrm.  To be more explicit, I want to be able to
select text in one window and paste it into another without having to go thru
an intermediate clipboard/pasteboard buffer.

2) What setting do I use to reverse the sense of the mouse buttons.  I have a
microsoft mouse (2-buttons) and I want the right button to be the activation
button.
