                 /etc/rc.d/rc.modules using driver de4x5
                 ( Thin-net or 10base2 backbone network)

It seems the the card get detected fine.
On the other hand eth0 is only using 10baseT transceiver(I believe,
from "eth0: media is not connected" above),and for some reason it does  to
switch to 10base2 BNC wich has the coax cable attached.

I have read the ethernet howto, network howto, and Linux administrator's
guide and have not been able to solve this problem.

Any advice on getting the DE-530 to work with de4x5 module on a BNC
backbone would be appreciated.

I hope I don't have to start from scratch by switching over to the tulip
driver. (The worse case, back to Win95 or NT).

ifconfig shows proper info.
Using telnet will freeze up the computer as is except to localhost.

thanks in advance
Any advice is appreciated.
