nslookup question

Post by joseph norri » Sat, 08 Mar 1997 04:00:00

hello group,

Our problem is that I can nslookup my ip and get the name of the server
back. I can nslookup my server name and get the ip address back. But when
I do the following

nslookup 111.11.11.11 222.22.222.2 (the second number another server)

I get the following:
*** pacific.pacific.net can't find 111.11.11.11: Non-existent host/domain

Can anyone enlighten me on this? thanks. Joseph.

1. nslookup question

Does anyone know of a tutorial on nslookup?  Some illustrative examples?

How does one lookup the ip number of a host not located in your domain?
The man page tries to tell how to find info on locus.ucla.edu but
doesn't really tell you what to do...

any info would be appreciated.

thanks
