Iomega BUZ?

Iomega BUZ?

Post by //slo-tran » Mon, 30 Mar 1998 04:00:00

Is there any (planned) effort to create support for the Iomega BUZ video
I/O system under Linux?  I'd like to start doing some video production,
and the BUZ looks like a nifty and cost-effective solution (rather than,
say, using Windoze or getting an SGI Indy).  I expect it would require
A.) demand from users and  B.) specs from Iomega...

Iomega BUZ?

I would avoid the Buz. From what I hear, the quality is not so great. PC
Magazine did a great write-up on it in their latest issue. I'm not sure what
month it is, but there is a Buz on the cover.

1. Iomega Buz Driver problems

I am using kernel 2.2.12 from Slackware 7, and the buz module does not
load fully. I get the following messages from /var/log/messages after
trying to load the module by doing a 'modprobe buz':

i2c: initialized
Zoran driver 1.00 (c) 1999 Rainer Johanni, Dave
Perks.
zoran0: Zoran ZR36057 (rev 1) irq: 15, memory: 0xd8001000.
zoran: 1 zoran card(s) found
zoran: using 2 V4L buffers of size 128 KB

I then get the following message echoed to the console:

zoran0: Zoran ZR36060 not found (Rev=22)

What is wrong/how can I fix this.  The Buz I just recently got off of
ebay as a remanufactured unit that was unopened.

Thanks much,
Pat Finnegan
