IS there a mp3 gui for linux console? or for vga-lib?
(a command line tool won't do )

x11amp is another
i use another oen though, to tell u the truth though i forget what its
called b/c i havent used linux in a while let alone play an mp3.

It is an X program, it won't work on the console. A console program was requested,
not an X program.

Is a gui really necessary? if not you might try mpg123 (command line player).

mpg123 is a console based player (i don't recall the home page, but it's
available at linuxberg.com)
