AMD DX4/120 vs. INTEL DX4/100

The subject says it all.  Has anyone had a negative experience with the
AMD DX4/120(or even the DX4/100 for that matter) with Linux?  I am
currently running a Intel DX2/66, and I haven't given up on the 486 line
yet.  Besides, with a Matrox Millenium and 16MB RAM my system is still
faster than some Pentiums.  I am looking for the best price/performance
upgrade.  The Intel DX4/100 goes for around $210, while the AMD DX4/100
goes for around $120, and the AMD DX4/120 for around $150.  I have heard
that the AMD DX4/120 is comparable to the Intel DX4/100 in speed, even
though it is about $60 dollars cheaper.  Anyone have any input on this?

Kim

: I'm running Linux 1.2.13 on an AMD DX4-120 w/o any problems at all.  Upgraded
: from a DX2-80.  The DX4-120 is definately faster.  Even BogoMIPS confirms the
: speedup (info thru 'dmesg'):

: Calibrating delay loop.. ok - 60.45 BogoMips

Nice to hear, but: which Mainboard do you use ?
I've an AMD DX4/100 w. 50.xx BogoMips (That's OK, so far.)
and a GigaByte GA 486 IM Mainbboard (VIP-Board)

1. AMD5x86 VS AMD DX4-120

Hello everyone,
does anyone have benchmarks or comparisons of speed differences
between the AMD-DX4-120 and the 5x86 overclocked at 160Mhz.  I currently
have a dx4-120 and wonder if it would be worth spending $80 to upgrade to
the 5x86.  I am just curious as to how much performance increase I can
expect.  Thanks.
