RealPlayer 5.0 and Netscape 4.5

RealPlayer 5.0 and Netscape 4.5

Hello,

I've been trying for a while to get rvplayer to work as a plugin with Netscape4.5

Firstly, it seems that the RAObserver.class and RAPlayer.class are not even
included in the rpm I downloaded from the Real site. I went ahead and copied
them from sun/solaris version.

Secondly, I had to run Netscape 4.07 in order to get the plugin actually activated,
then it is visible in Netscape 4.5.

Thirdly, it is only set up for .rpm files and I cannot seem to add .ra, .ram, or .rm
extensions into the plugin.

Fourthly, even after setting rvplayer as an application - since I could not get it to
work as a plugin, clicking on a real audio file will start rvplayer, but nothing happens.
I can run rvplayer by itself and successfully play welcome.rm, but thats about it.
I believe I have my LD_LIBRARY_PATH and MOZILLA_HOME set up correctly,
so  what am I missing?

I am running RedHat 5.2 on an IBM ThinkPad 380ED with 80Mb RAM.

Paul.

1. Netscape 4.5 and Real Video 5.0

I've installed the FreeBSD version of Netscape and the Linux version of
rvplayer.  They both run pretty well on their own, but I can't invoke rvplayer
from Netscape.  I installed the plugins according to the rvplayer
instructions.  When I start Netscape, I get the following error:

~> ERROR: bad magic number in "/home/dennis/.netscape/plugins/librvplayer.so"
Cant load plugin /home/dennis/.netscape/plugins/librvplayer.so. Ignored.

Does anyone know of a workaround?  I'm not a big rvplayer user, but sometimes
it's nice to have some music while I'm working.  If I use KDE I can get it
to work through their browser, but that browser is slow and doesn't always
work with sites I need to connect to.
