I have the next problem:

I have Red Hat Linux 7.2 (workstation style) connected in a LAN with TCP/IP.
In this LAN I have to DNS running over Windows NT 4.0 Server. All this work
The range addresses of this LAN are 10.25.0.254 (netmask 255.255.255.0).
The DNS server adresses of my ISP are of the 192.x.x.x.

How Do I to configurate my Linux parametes to connect to Internet Via
Modem?

I recommend using kppp. Run it, enter the requested information (such as
telephone number, account-id and password) and up you go...

Some stuff you might not know:
~$ is the user-prompt. You don't have to type this.
~# is the root-prompt. You don't have to type this, but you do
need to be root in order to execute the command.

Thanks Sven.  I don't have much experience in networks but I have the
basics.  I could connect with Kppp and get the prompt of my ISP and
put the login and password and... eureka i connected but when i try
navigate, the browser not resolve the addresses by names (ie.
www.yahoo.com). I put the DNS addresses provided by my ISP, but not
work, i see the resolv.conf file and the addresses was right.  But I
ping physical addresss (ie. 196.x.x.x) and i have response.  I don't
know if I have my LAN set with 10.25.0.254 range addresses I need set
the gateway for jump to ISP's DNS addresses.
What I do?

Thanks if you can help me.

Very thanks again

1. How to connect to internet via modem

Hi,

I have installed solaris 2.5.1 for x86 on my PC
and I want now to connect to internet, but I dont know how
to configure.
Under W95 or NT I receive a IP-Adress from my Provider
at dialup, but I've seen no documentation about that for
Solaris, do I need to have a fix IP-address?
Also my modem does not dial, when I try to connect, maybe
I've not the good configuration for it, I have a US Robotics
Sportster Flash

Thanks in Advance.
