I'm having problems with the console graphics when leaving X. When I
boot into console mode everything works fine, but if I start X and then
go back into console mode the last eight (or so) rows of the screen are
not used. Instead they contain strange characters (sometimes in strange
colors too!).
I think it might have something to do with my "vga=10" option in
lilo.conf, but I'm not sure.
Does anyone know what the problem might be? Does anyone know a way to
reset the console graphics that might solve the problem? I tried the
"reset" command, but it doesn't reset the last erroneous rows.
Im running RedHat 8.0, XFree86-4.2.0-72, ncurses-5.2-28, kernel is 2.4.20.
Thanks!
