Yes, it's called ext2-os2, search archie for ext2_07b.zip.

I agree, but recent kernel versions are more flexible in recognizing
unusual constructs. Probably 1.3.32 will see it.
Probably fdisk 3.02 will see it.

        fdisk -l -x -uS /dev/my_hard_drive
