Keyboard, Linux and Windows?

Post by RF » Tue, 01 Feb 2000 04:00:00

Can anyone recommend a keyboard with a PS/2-style layout except that the
Ctrl keys and Caps Lock keys are switched?  I like having the Ctrl key
to the left of "A" (Unix style), but I will need to use the keyboard
with Windows and I do want a Caps Lock key.

I've looked at the Happy Hacker keyboard, but it doesn't have a Caps
Lock key and it's also pretty expensive ($139).

Please post responses (no e-mail).  And thank you!

Why not just use xmodmap or xkeycaps (the fancy front end to it) and
virtually move the key around.  Other than what's printed on the key,
that works fine and dandy.  (And there is almost certainly some $30
shareware thing for Windows that does something similar.)

Under Windows is a tool available (I think it was in the MS KernelToys,
wasn't it?) that enables you to switch the key layout as you wish.
Within Linux you can switch the layout with xmodmap or something like
that...
