I remember a while back when Viper video cards weren't supported by
linux (X)...   So I waited about half a year and there it was.  I still
have the same computer, and last time I checked, I couldn't get it to
work; according to the docs, it was the scsi card.  it's called nsc or
something and no one's even heard of it!  Well, I wasn't going to go out
there and buy me a new SCSI card just for linux...

1. Configuration of a Mitsumi Double-Speed CD-ROM

I have read all the faqs and am still having trouble accessing my Mitsumi
CD-ROM (Double Speed).  I have changed /usr/include/linux/mcd.h to

        #define MCD_BASE_ADDR           0x340

This is the correct base address for my CD-ROM.  After that, I ran

        make config
        make clean
        make dep
        make zImage

And rebooted.  I cannot access the CD-ROM still.  I have Linux 1.0, slackware.
If what I have done is correct, what is the command to access the CD drive?  I
have tried

        mount mcd

But I get error messages.
