Since you ran into a disk full error that caused the initial problem, I'll
suggest that you

    rm -rf /tmp/.X11

and restart X. The hidden directory may be the culprit.

This sounds like your answer. xfs can't start because /tmp is full (or
missing?). Try removing unneeded stuff from the root paritition. Make
sure that you're not freeing stuff from a separate partition.
