linux-based PC as a server

hi,
i have got a problem here, i am setting an information system for
a company on the web and i am wondering whether a linux based pc will be
better as my web site will be extracting data from an oracle database.
i am not sure if the interfacing of the site and the database will work.
i have been told that a company has used a Pentium 166 as a server with
82 MB RAM, i am also wondering what should be my system requirements in
order for it to act as a server....

1. INSTALLING NCSA HTTPD SERVER ON LINUX SLACKWARE IN A PC INTEL BASED

Hi,

Im going to install the ncsa httpd server in a PC (pentium 100)
running linux slackware.  However, I dont have such knowledge about
linux.

Then, could some of you help me in the following question?  I got the
file httpd_1.5.2a-export_linux2.0.0.tar.Z from ncsa site and dont
know how to install or even uncompress it.  Its a compressed file
containing the compiled ncsa server for pentium.

        Thanks in advance,
