How do I ppp link 2 linux PC's thru serial cable?

Post by Spiliopoulos Chr » Mon, 21 Aug 1995 04:00:00

I m trying to connect 2 Linux PC's through their serial ports..say
through /dev/cua1. What do I have to do?

I was told to run something like  pppd /dev/cua1 38400 passive
on both ends. I havent tried it yet, but I was wondering if that's
all there is to it..or do I have to setup/run more stuff?

(Should I rm the symlink of /dev/modem to /dev/cua1 by the way?)

Thanks

Chris

1. Serial-linked Minix or DOS PPP to Linux?

I have a Linux box and a DOS *OR* Minix-running IBM PS/2 model 30
(8086/8088) running with a single floppy drive (720K, 3.5")...someone
please tell me how I can get PPP running between the Linux machine and
the DOS/Minix one. In short, ***WHERE*** can I get a PPP stack for the
DOS or Minix systems? PLEASE?
