libc.so.5.4.44 and make

Howdy...

LART me because  I haven't read the FAQ yet, but has anyone else had problems
with make and libc.so.5.4.44 (I get a segmentation fault when trying to run
make)?
Cheers

Yes my brother did but I did not. Just upgrade make to the latest
look for binary version ;-)

You need make-3.75 or above.

Mark.

Read all the documentation that comes with
libc.so.5.4.44.  Somewhere there it tells you
to get the latest make (3.76.1, I think) from
sunsite.

Read the documentation carefully.  There is a
method provided to compile make without make.

Good luck,

John

OK, consider yourself LARTed (whatever that is).
It sez in the release. file AND the README (gee, whoda thunk it) that
"MAKE IS BROKEN WITH THIS RELEASE. PLEASE GET MAKE-3.75" (caps mine).
Plain as day. Right at the top. Bin provided in the same dir on Sunsite
so you don't have to look for it.

PLEASE AT LEAST TRY TO READ THE *ING README BEFORE POSTNG.
ALTERNATELY, HAVE SOMEONE READ IT TO YOU, SINCE YOU OBVIOUSLY CAN'T. How
a bastard son of an Ozark redneck washed up on the shore of that island,
and then fumbled this far into setting up a Linux box, getting it
connected, and then posting to the internet *without ever being able to
*ing read* amazes me. It'd be one thing if it was obscurely
documented - it's not.

Cheer this,

[Nice LART snipped]

LART==Luser Attitude Readjustment Tool. Good job, especially if you
_really_ didn't know it :-)
