Very Computer

1. STB LightSpeed 128 (ET6000)

    I have a new computer that has a STB LightSpeed 128 card in it which
uses the Tseng ET6000 chipset.  I've got X running almost beautifully.
I have it running in 8, 16, and 24 bpp without a problem.  The problem
is that the clock probe did not and could not detect the clock settings
for this card.  I have tried specifying the clockchip as "et6000", and
it accepts that without a problem (in fact, if I don't use that line in
XF86Config, it autodetects the clock chip).  The problem is that the
clock settings ARE WAY OFF in X.  I have to completely retune the
monitor for all of this.  The monitor settings in the configuration
should be correct, I believe, since I got the specifications for the
sync rates right out of the manual for my monitor (it's a Mag Innovision
710V2, by the way).  The screen also likes to roll and do other
not-so-cool effects when it's in virtual mode as well.  Anyone have a
solution to this?  What I'm looking for is clock settings, I think.
