need a "chron-job" to start pppd

Yo guys..

I need a script that will start PPPD if it finds that it is not already
running (linux 1.2.8). I'd like to have it start itself every two
minutes, then (i guess), grep the processes for PPPD and then (not
finding it) start it.

Where should I put such a script?

i think you can put pppd in your /etc/inittab with the respawn option
like getty.  then it will startup as soon as you boot the machine, and
respawn a pppd every time one dies.  does that sound about right?

Get the program pppupd at sunsite.unc.edu. It's a great program and
I have been running it for 3 months with no probs.. Whenever my ppp
connection does go down--it atomatically dials it back on. Highly
configurable.
